The fundamental purpose of the NCCT business development program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to achieve success in developing their own business plan, and how it affects their workplace, and daily life.
The goals of this business curriculum is too enable students to: gain an understanding of business concepts through the study of subjects such as accounting, entrepreneur- ship, information and communication technology (ICT), financial management interna- tional business, marketing, and business leadership;
Achieve business, economic, financial, and digital literacy. develop the skills, including critical thinking skills,and strategies required to conduct research and inquiry and com- municate findings accurately, ethically, and effectively; apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes acquired through the study of business to a variety of learning tasks and relate them to business ventures on the local, national, and global levels;
- develop lifelong learning skills that will help them adapt to technological advance- ments, the changing workplace, and the global economy;
- make connections that will help them take advantage of potential business opportu- nities, educational resources and working relationships.These goals can be achieved in a concrete and practical context through real-world learning activities that combine the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills.The need to be enterprising is further emphasized by the exponential growth of e- commerce and the economic opportunities it presents.Students will have opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attributes of en- trepreneurs and enterprising employees by planning a viable business venture plan with an e-commerce component.
Students will use these skills to learn how to live and work as creative problem solvers who welcome and successfully manage change.
